During the month of October, we had our septic system upgraded which
meant digging up part of the driveway, lawn and garden area. I was not
happy...

When the work was all finished, I was left with a zillion rocks. I
cleaned up about half of them, then decided to concentrate on new garden
area. I used spray paint to mark new curving border, then cleaned out
the rocks and amended the soil. Next I placed river rocks for edging and
then pea gravel. I had a sod lawn put in and what a difference!

With plenty of rain in October and November, the new lawn has rooted
well. I planted various types of shrubs and tall grasses in back of the
border. I look forward to adding lots of perennials next spring.

Between the end of the new lawn and the garage is the start of a new
seating area.
