2006 Spring&Summer Gardens

My gardens are looking very lush this spring. I bought a few new plants -Veronica and Cone flowers - and did a lot of dividing of plants I've had for many years. I moved a few shrubs around in the Japanese-style garden but otherwise have left my gardens and sitting areas pretty much the same as last year (when I really did a lot of new stuff!!) I'll be adding summer photos in July and August. Welcome to my gardens and enjoy your visit !!

As I watch the leaves falling, I think about how lovely my gardens looked this spring and summer, how much joy I felt looking at, and photographing, the everchanging colors as different plants, trees and shrubs bloomed. It was fun and often fascinating observing all the birds, butterflies and frogs who enjoyed the wildlife habitat I have created and preserved over the years.

In a few weeks, I will be cutting back the perennials, adding mulch to the gardens and preparing the ponds for winter. I'll be decorating the front porch for fall and then Halloween and finally, Christmas. After that, thoughts of spring will comfort me through January, February and March. Then it will be time to start the 2007 gardens webpage :-)
